As we bid farewell to a challenging year for the art industry, we at Edward Mitterrand Art Advisory reflect on one of the many remarkable artworks we’ve had the privilege of placing with our clients. Looking ahead, we are thrilled about the exciting projects planned for 2025, including the third iteration of the Pierre Lorinet Collection exhibition in Singapore, curated by Edward, and the launch of our new platform dedicated to reselling works from collections we manage.
We are also eagerly anticipating Jean Tinguely’s centenary, celebrating the legacy of this iconic Swiss artist.
A heartfelt thank you to our clients, galleries, auction houses, and art shippers with whom we have the privilege of collaborating.
Our warmest wishes,

How was the Art Market in 2024?
The art market in 2024 faced a mixed year marked by challenges and opportunities. While global art sales declined slightly, the sector demonstrated resilience, supported by steady demand in regions like Hong Kong and increased engagement with emerging and younger artists. High-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) diversified their collections, focusing more on mid-priced and innovative works, as spending patterns shifted due to global economic uncertainties. Galleries remained the primary sales channel, with online and social media platforms continuing to gain traction. The market’s adaptability amidst geopolitical tensions and evolving generational tastes underscored its enduring vitality and potential for growth in the coming years.
Focus on one work placed in 2024: Kenneth Noland
While the art market in 2024 has seen significant contraction, we remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting strong and established careers, such as that of Kenneth Noland. Noland's work from the 1970s represents a pinnacle of modernist exploration, characterized by his innovative use of color, form, and space. Pieces from this era not only encapsulate the artist's mature vision but also hold a timeless quality that resonates with collectors and institutions alike. Investing in a 1970s Noland work offers both historical significance and enduring aesthetic value, making it a compelling addition to any distinguished collection.

May 2025: Centenary of Jean Tinguely
In 2025, the art world will celebrate the centenary of Jean Tinguely, one of the most innovative artists of the 20th century. This milestone is marked by a series of exceptional exhibitions at renowned institutions, including the Hangar Bicocca in Milan, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Rath Museum in Geneva. These exhibitions will honor Tinguely’s groundbreaking legacy, showcasing his dynamic and imaginative works to audiences around the globe.
New platform on selling / buying on Newsletter
